Five Minute Chocolate Cake – in a Mug!

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE CAKE

4 teaspoons flour
4 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons cocoa (NOTE: I used Hot Chocolate instead, tastes better)
1 egg
3 teaspoons milk
3 teaspoons oil
3 teaspoons chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil, and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for three minutes, on high (time is for 1000 watt microwave). The cake will rise to the top of the mug, don’t panic!

Allow to cool a little, and tip onto a plate if desired.

Sounds gross, but it’s actually very nice. I just tried it, and it worked a treat! Yummmmm! :)

Interesting and better. I used pretty much the same, however I used cocoa. I have been doing something similar for years after seeing it on Food Network. Here is how I do mine, just a bit different but I love it.

I use pretty much the same exact measurements. I used cocoa instead, but just tried hot chocolate and you are right, it is a better taste. I didn’t add vanilla extract to mine either, and that stepped it up a notch as well, very well done.

I take a big mug, do this, and when it is done and still hot, I pour milk into my mug, use a spoon, mix it up, and go to town.

MMMMM! I can see one more of these tonight now :)
