Five Minute Chocolate Cake – in a Mug!
5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE CAKE
4 teaspoons flour
4 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons cocoa (NOTE: I used Hot Chocolate instead, tastes better)
1 egg
3 teaspoons milk
3 teaspoons oil
3 teaspoons chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil, and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for three minutes, on high (time is for 1000 watt microwave). The cake will rise to the top of the mug, don’t panic!
Allow to cool a little, and tip onto a plate if desired.
Sounds gross, but it’s actually very nice. I just tried it, and it worked a treat! Yummmmm!
testing WP-Jaiku – Wordpress > Jaiku plugin
Since my posts show up on Twitter, I thought I’d try and get them to show up on Jaiku too.
What’s Jaiku?
Like Twitter, only better, and with SMS in the UK – which Twitter decided to kill off. Boo hissss!
You can download wp-jaiku from: http://code.google.com/p/wp-jaiku/
Here’s hoping it works!
*fingers crossed*
Same, only different
Made a few changes to the site, most notibly the theme.
Also added a few new plugins which work in the background to hopefully speed things up a bit, but the one thing you’ll notice is when you click a post title and read the post, at the end of the post is a list of similar posts – this also appears in the RSS feed too – this is automatically generated so think of it as a blog post lottery… ;)
Also edited a few posts to add the ‘more’ tag to keep the front page fast, all the images, and YouTube videos, really slow the page down, plus having to click the post title means you get to see the similar posts.
Enjoy!
Mailing list and Etsy shop
As you’ve probably noticed, I’ve added links to my Etsy shop on the side bar, and a new feature: a mailing list.
All you need to do is enter your name and email address, and click Subscribe. You’ll be notified each time I post to the blog, and I can also send out special emails to those who’ve subscribed, so give it a try. Oh, and it’s easy to unsubscribe from it, there’s an unsubscribe link in every email I send out from it, so you’re not locked in. I hate spammy mailing lists as much as you do, especially the ones that offer no way out! GRRrrr!
eBay Shop closing (already!)
eBay – once called fleaBay, it’s now feeBay. The cost of a basic shop (from September) will rise from £6 per month to £15 per month!
And it’s not even April 1st!
I’ll be damned if I’m paying feeBay £15/mth for a basic shop especially since more frequent sellers (ie: powersellers) are to receive higher search result rankings! In other words: the sometime-seller pays more in the long run AND eBay want to take a percentage of the sale price!
I have no idea who makes the decisions at eBay, but said person seriously needs medical attention!
I’m still selling prints with ImageKind and deviantART and I’ll sort out a new ‘original, one of a kind’ shop soon.
eBay Shop – Halcyon Art
Rather than continually messing with shop code and/or PayPal buttons and code I decided to just open an eBay Shop.
In there will (soon) be all my art for purchase. I realise that the prices have risen dramatically in the ebay shop, but I need to do that to cover my rising costs, but readers of this blog can mention the blog when purchasing and I’ll give you free postage or make me an offer on a piece.
Tweet tweet!
Have added my twitter ‘tweets’ to the right hand panel of the site, feel free to follow me on Twitter.com.
Bought myself an HP Photosmart C3180 all-in-one printer. It’s reeeeealll purdy.
I can use it for printing, scanning and PC-less photocopying! Comes in handy for duplicating sketches and so on. Unfortunately the scan area is only A4 so not big enough to scan my paintings but, what the heck, my digital camera does good photos.
Will probably be doing a new painting tonight and, all going to plan (which will be a first), I’ll use my EEE PC & webcam to do a new time lapse video.
Fingers crossed!
Some Day My Prints Will Come
That was quite possibly my worst post title yet, but still applicable!
I have now opened an account with imagekind who do prints of artwork on to paper, canvas, greeting cards and so on. So if you fancy grabbing a print (cheaper than an original piece) then feel free to head over to my imagekind shop.
Shop Now Open!
Shop now open folks, come on in!
I’ve discounted a few older paintings and added my most recent one (The Cottage) if you want a further 10% discount you can use the coupon code: grandopening0408
