Yep, Ubuntu (and XBMC) recognise the Cyberlink but some of the buttons don't work as they should, that's where you have to start tinkering to get them working properly. But comparing XBMC and Boxee, XBMC works best with the Cyberlink out of the box. But on the flip side, Boxee comes with a TON of plugins as standard, XBMC comes with very few and Boxee is based on XBMC.

I'm after buying a Revo 3600 and a cheap Cyberlink on eBay. Does the Cyberlink work with XBMC immediately though? I've read it doesn't and there a few guides around to getting it working. I'd prefer to just buy something that works out of the box.

Ooh! Sounds awesome!

I definitely like the fact that it comes with all the plugins and what-not as standard, unlike XBMC where I had to add an app to gain access to the XBMC app 'repo'.

Hey Ronnie,
I just did the same thing this week (except still running XP on my Revo), and if you're impressed now, wait 'til you try the Boxee beta! It's soooo much nicer, and much more intuitive.
